Starlink in France: availability, prices and installers (2026)

Key takeaways

Starlink covers all of metropolitan France. Residential costs €35, €45 or €65 a month in November 2026, the kit is rented for nothing upfront or bought for €349, and installation runs €150–€400. Overseas prices, business plans and the nine French Starlink companies we list.

In this article

Starlink covers all of metropolitan France, Corsica included, and five overseas departments. On 2 November 2026 Residential costs €35 (100 Mbps), €45 (200 Mbps) or €65 a month (Residential Max), VAT included, and Starlink's order data lists a discount to €28, €36 and €52 until 31 December 2026. The Standard kit can be rented with nothing to pay upfront, bought for €349, or taken for €99 with a 12-month commitment. A professional installation costs €172 when ordered with the kit from Starlink and usually €150–€400 from an independent installer. We list nine Starlink companies in France, most of them on the coasts and in the west. The prices below were read from starlink.com's French offer data on 2 November 2026.

Yes. Starlink sells its Residential, Roam and Business plans everywhere in metropolitan France. The regulator, Arcep, first assigned it frequencies in February 2021; the Conseil d'État cancelled that decision in 2022 because no public consultation had been held, and Arcep issued a new authorisation after consulting. The dish itself needs no licence.

In France the question is less coverage than whether you need it. Fibre now reaches most homes, and Orange is switching off the copper network in stages until 2030, so Starlink is mainly bought by three groups: rural households still waiting for fibre or stuck on slow ADSL, second homes and gîtes where a fixed line is not worth paying all year, and businesses that want a backup line independent of the local exchange. Speeds have improved in 2026: Ookla measured a European median around 165 Mbps, about 45% more than a year earlier.

Two local rules matter before ordering. In a copropriété, roof or facade works need the co-owners' agreement, usually voted at the general meeting. Near a listed monument or in a protected area, a visible dish can require a déclaration préalable and the opinion of the Architecte des Bâtiments de France. Check with the mairie before drilling.

Starlink raised its French prices on 20 May 2026 by about €6 a month on each tier (from €29, €39 and €59), for new and existing customers. The current offer:

Residential prices include 20% VAT and have no minimum term, except where you choose the 12-month kit offer. The order data also lists a discount ending 31 December 2026; whether it applies to your address shows at checkout, as does which tiers are sold there, since the cheaper ones are withheld in congested cells. The country-by-country figures, including converted prices, are on our Starlink prices by country page.

The overseas departments have their own, simpler offer: a Residential Lite plan and a full Residential plan, the Standard kit at €349 with no rental option, and Roam 100 GB at €45. Prices read on 24 October 2026:

TerritoryResidential LiteResidential
Martinique€35€45
Réunion€40€75
Mayotte€40€75
French Guiana€55€75
Guadeloupe€60€75

French Polynesia and New Caledonia were not open to Residential orders on that date; both have their own telecom regulators. For Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and Wallis-et-Futuna, enter the address on starlink.com: we could not read an offer for them.

Professional installation: what it costs in France

Most French houses can be set up by the owner with the supplied base or a wall mount in under an hour. An installer earns their fee when the only clear view of the northern sky is on the roof, when the cable must cross a thick stone wall, or when the dish goes on an outbuilding or a mast.

  • Through Starlink: the French order page offers an optional roof installation by a third-party installer, who contacts you after the kit ships. Selectra reports a fixed price of €172, sometimes waived during promotions. Accessories such as a pole or a longer cable are extra.
  • Independent installer (antenniste): about €150 for a simple wall or mast mount and up to €400 for a roof mount with a long cable run, on quotation; travel can be added in isolated rural areas.
  • Mounts: third-party wall, pole and pitched-roof mounts sell for €17–€57.
  • Business sites (mast, failover router, several dishes): quoted after a site survey, often by a reseller who also supplies the plan.

Get in writing: where the dish goes and how it is fixed, the cable path and the number of holes, how each hole is sealed, who carries the insurance if the roof leaks, and whether the price includes VAT and travel.

Which kit for which use

  • Main home or gîte: the Standard kit. Rent it if you may switch to fibre within a year or two; buy it if you expect to keep Starlink, since the kit keeps a resale value.
  • Second home: the Standard kit with Standby mode between stays, at €10 a month instead of a full plan.
  • Camping-car, van or sailing boat: the Mini on a Roam plan. It runs on 12–48 V through a USB-C power supply, which suits leisure batteries.
  • Business, farm or mountain site: the Performance kit on Local Priority. It melts more snow, takes more wind and accepts a wider temperature range, which matters in the Alps, the Pyrenees and the Massif Central.

Our comparison of satellite internet options covers the alternatives when Starlink does not fit.

We list nine companies that work with Starlink in France: six install it, eight resell it, five run it as a managed service. They cluster in the west and on the Mediterranean coast:

  • Brittany: Parabolica, a satellite and antenna installer based near Rostrenen in Côtes-d'Armor.
  • Normandy: Smarthome France, based in Ger (Manche), installs Starlink, including on boats, along with Wi-Fi mesh and English TV across southern Normandy and Mayenne. Its site is in English, which helps British owners of homes in the area.
  • Dordogne: NIWA Accès Solutions, an access-control and electrical firm that presents itself as an approved Starlink professional installer and also installs gates, cameras and EV chargers.
  • Var and Côte d'Azur: IP-VS Var Telecom in Hyères, and RG Sat, an antenna specialist covering the coast from Monaco to Saint-Tropez.
  • Business, nationwide: Bouygues Telecom Entreprises, an official Starlink reseller since July 2024, sells the kit, the plan, installation and monitoring to companies. IEC Telecom, based in Cergy, supplies Starlink with VSAT and maritime services. Sewan adds it to its business telecom offer.

Large parts of the country have no listed installer yet, notably the north-east, the Alps and the Massif Central; there, a local antenniste used to satellite TV dishes can do the job. The wider satellite providers in France page also covers other networks. Installers who are missing can add their company for free.

How to choose an installer

  1. Ask for photos of Starlink installs on houses like yours: slate, tile, stone wall or a mast in a garden.
  2. Check the insurance. Drilling a roof is building work; ask for the professional liability certificate.
  3. Ask about obstructions. A good installer checks the sky view with the Starlink app before fixing anything, including the trees in summer leaf.
  4. Compare reseller packages with buying direct. A reseller can bundle hardware, plan and support on one French invoice; the kit and plan are usually cheaper on starlink.com.
  5. For a business, ask who answers when the link drops, and whether the router fails over to 4G or the fixed line automatically. Our guide on choosing a business Starlink installer goes through the options.

Where fibre is available, it is faster on uploads, has lower latency and costs less than Starlink Residential Max. A 4G or 5G box at around €30 a month is the cheapest option where the mobile signal is strong. Among other satellite services, Nordnet, an Orange subsidiary, sells plans on Eutelsat's geostationary satellites, with higher latency than Starlink. Amazon Leo received French frequency rights from Arcep in July 2025 and plans consumer service in France, but had published no price by early November 2026; see our Amazon Leo guide.

Bottom line

For a French home without fibre, budget €35–€65 a month plus either nothing upfront (rental) or €349 for the kit, and €150–€400 if a professional has to go on the roof. Check the offer for your exact address, look at the discount before 31 December 2026, and compare the Starlink installers in France we list if you need help with the mount.
