Starlink Maritime vs VSAT for commercial fleets: cost per vessel, plans and hybrid setups (2026)

Starlink Global Priority costs $250 (50 GB) to $2,150 (2 TB) a month per vessel when bought direct, and authorised distributors sell an unlimited plan to IMO-registered cargo and tanker vessels for $2,495 a month with the terminal included (prices checked on 18 September 2026). VSAT keeps its place for guaranteed bandwidth, high-latitude routes and the waters where Starlink is switched off; most fleets now run Starlink as the primary link with a GEO or L-band fallback.
