About this directory

Turkey is one of the few large markets where Starlink is not licensed. SpaceX applied to BTK, the telecom regulator, in September 2023; in 2026 the transport ministry still said the file was not on its agenda, and no licence had been announced by October 2026. Starlink therefore cannot be legally sold or activated for use in Turkey or its territorial waters, and this page lists no Starlink reseller. Satellite connectivity in the country runs on Türksat's own satellites, on mobile satellite networks sold by licensed GMPCS operators, and on Eutelsat OneWeb.

Operators and broadband

Türksat, the state satellite operator, sells TürksatNet Ka-band broadband for homes and businesses without a fixed line, corporate VSAT networks, backup links for mobile base stations and teleport services from its Gölbaşı campus near Ankara. Balkan Telekom (Istanbul) holds a satellite licence and sells VSAT internet, private networks and Eutelsat OneWeb, mostly to companies working in Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan.

Ships and shipyards

Tuzla, Istanbul's shipyard district, is where vessels get their satellite systems. Veri Deniz and Anka Marine Electronics install maritime VSAT, OneWeb and L-band terminals and service GMDSS and voyage data recorders; both also fit Starlink for ships that use it outside Turkish waters.

Satellite phones, field kits and IoT

ICOM (Ankara) says it is the sole authorized Iridium distributor in Turkey and holds a GMPCS authorization; Teknomobil (Ankara) presents itself as Thuraya's only operator in the country and also sells Inmarsat and Iridium; SATCOM Türkiye (Yalova) supplies and installs equipment and airtime across several networks. For sensors and meters, Plan-S runs Connecta, a Turkish low Earth orbit IoT constellation of 16 satellites that Türk Telekom also sells. CTech, a Turkish Aerospace subsidiary, builds satellite terminals for drones and defense platforms.
