Overview
Türksat A.Ş. is Turkey's state-owned satellite operator, with its satellite control and teleport campus in Gölbaşı, south of Ankara. Besides satellite capacity and broadcasting it runs the country's cable TV network.
For connectivity, TürksatNet is a Ka-band broadband satellite internet service for individual and corporate users in places without terrestrial lines, or as a backup to an existing connection; it is delivered through a VSAT dish, an indoor satellite modem or router and an optional de-icing unit. Türksat also sells corporate VSAT networks that carry data, voice and application traffic between multiple locations, mobility solutions for field teams, PeycON portable Ka- or Ku-band antennas for live broadcasts, satellite IoT for large sensor networks, military communications, disaster communication, and GSM backup that switches mobile operators' base stations to satellite when fibre or power fails. Its Gölbaşı teleport operates C-, Ku-, BSS- and Ka-band antennas.
In March 2025 Türksat signed a multi-year agreement with Eutelsat for Ka-band capacity on the KONNECT VHTS satellite, to provide in-flight connectivity for airlines over Europe.
