ICOM Uydu Haberleşme

ICOM Uydu Haberleşme A.Ş., part of the ACS group and based in Çankaya, Ankara, says it is the sole authorized Iridium distributor and service provider in Turkey. It is authorized by BTK, the Turkish telecom regulator, to provide GMPCS (mobile satellite) services, so activation, subscriptions and airtime are handled under a licensed operator.

ICOM sells Iridium satellite phones and push-to-talk radios, Iridium Certus terminals for IP data and multiple voice lines, maritime antennas, and data modules for asset tracking and telemetry, and adds installation, maintenance and technical service. It designs packages for ships, aircraft, mining, energy and logistics sites, vehicle fleets, and for disaster response and public safety teams that need a voice line when mobile networks fail. Its customers include military units, security forces and aid organizations.

ICOM has regional offices in Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya and dealers in seven regions. It points out that Iridium products not sold through ICOM are not covered by Iridium's warranty in Turkey, and checks the serial number and sales document before servicing a device.
