Overview
Plan-S is a satellite and space technology company founded in Ankara in 2021. It designs, manufactures, launches and operates its satellites in-house, and says it has launched 21 satellites in four years, aiming for a constellation of hundreds by 2030.
Its connectivity brand, Connecta, is a low Earth orbit satellite IoT network: it carries small data messages from meters, tanks, pipelines, farm sensors, weather stations and tracked assets where there is no mobile coverage. In January 2026 four more Connecta satellites were launched on SpaceX's Twilight mission, bringing the active constellation to 16. Plan-S has completed the regulatory process for satellite IoT in Türkiye, Australia and Denmark, and signed a strategic agreement with Türk Telekom, which adds Connecta's satellite IoT service to its own portfolio. In field tests the Connecta IoT Modem Lite sent smart-meter readings from areas without GSM coverage.
Its second brand, Observa, sells analytics built on satellite imagery and other space data. Connecta is a narrowband IoT service, not a broadband internet link.
