Overview
Gilat Colombia is the Bogotá office of Gilat Satellite Networks, an Israeli manufacturer of satellite ground equipment (SkyEdge VSAT hubs and terminals, in-flight connectivity systems, amplifiers) that also deploys and operates networks as a service provider in Latin America.
In Colombia Gilat has built rural connectivity and school networks for the Ministry of ICT (MinTIC) and supplies VSAT platforms used by local operators. Its systems are multi-orbit and work over GEO, MEO and LEO satellites, which makes it a supplier to carriers and integrators rather than a retail provider.
