Overview

Deutsche Telekom, headquartered in Bonn, is Germany's largest telecom operator and appears on Starlink's list of authorized resellers. In April 2026 it launched Satellite Internet Access by Starlink (SIA), a fully managed satellite broadband service for large companies and public-sector organisations, which it presents as the only one of its kind from a German network operator.

SIA is sold as a turnkey package from one source and billed on the regular Telekom invoice. Telekom quotes up to 400 Mbit/s down and 40 Mbit/s up, 20 to 60 ms latency and at least 99.9% availability. Unlike consumer plans there is no flat rate: customers buy prioritised data, from about 55 euros a month for 50 GB per terminal up to 10 TB, on top of a monthly system charge from 16 euros and a one-off setup fee that depends on the site, according to figures Telekom gave to the trade press.

The main use is resilience: keeping a site online when the fibre or copper line fails, or connecting a new site before fibre arrives, as in the pilot with a brewery chain in eastern Germany. At MWC 2026 Telekom also announced a satellite-to-mobile partnership with Starlink for ten European countries, planned for 2028.
