National Institute of Telecommunications

National Institute of Telecommunications is an independent national research and development institution in telecommunications and information technology, based in Warszawa, Poland. It conducts work on the development of the state telecommunications network and the standardization of systems and devices. It provides scientific, research, and technical support to state institutions.

The Institute supports Polish economic entities in implementing the latest telecommunications and IT technologies, including those based on future 5G mobile networks. It employs about 320 people and operates modern, accredited laboratories that conduct device testing and calibration. The Institute holds national, NATO, EU and ESA security clearances.

It has three locations: Warsaw Miedzeszyn, Gdańsk, and Wrocław, occupying a total area of 7.2 hectares and a usable floor area of 27,000 m². The Institute is a scientific unit of category B+ in the discipline of Technical Informatics and Telecommunications (ITiT).

The Institute (Instytut Łączności – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy) is listed on Starlink's list of authorized resellers for Poland, which matters for public bodies that need to buy Starlink through a state entity.
