Overview

CNT (Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones) is Ecuador's state-owned telecom operator, providing fixed, mobile and business services across the country.

On 29 September 2026 CNT launched SatPower, a direct-to-phone satellite service with Starlink using CNT's own spectrum, authorized by the regulator ARCOTEL. It covers more than 82% of the territory at launch, including roads, rural areas, mountains, jungle and coastal waters up to 12 nautical miles, for messaging, maps and emergency apps on compatible phones; it does not replace regular mobile data. CNT also uses a Starlink community gateway to serve the Galápagos Islands.
